About the Owner

Pleased to meet you!  I'll try to get a picture of myself on this page soon.  I'm Sara Martin, owner of Furry Godmother Pet Sitting.  My first love in life is animals, and this has led and inspired me to begin a pet-sitting career.  I have shared my life with and cared for a wide range of animals, including birds, snakes, ferrets, cats, dogs, horses, and fish.  I was also a wildlife rehabilitator for a time.  There have always been animals in my home, and I wouldn't have it any other way. 

 My job experience with animals includes working at a trail riding establishment in Barnardsville near the Pisgah Forest, a stint at a reptile breeder's in Florida where I cared for snakes, rodents and geckos, as a kennel technician and "unofficial" veterinary technician, and working in show horse barns with my former husband, who trains Paso Finos.  I have an A.A.S. in Equine Technology as well.

When you contract with me to care for your pets during your time away, you can trust that they will recieve the most TLC possible and that their every need will be met- and all of this while remaining where they are most comfortable- at home!

I am a member of PUPS (Professional United Pet Sitters Association), and am certified in Pet First Aid by Red Cross.

In addition to being a lifelong animal lover, I am also an artist.  I design and create silver jewelry and sell  at art/craft festivals.  My work can be seen at www.modmystic.com .  Doing jewelry design feeds my need to create.
