Furry Godmother Pet Sitting Policies
Meet & Greet: A free initial consultation (Meet & Greet) is required for all new clients prior to reservations being accepted. This will allow me to assess the compatability between your pets and me, plus give us time to complete all necessary forms and contracts. This meeting must be booked at least 48 hours prior to date needed.
*Please note: Last minute reservations can only be accepted if there is time for the Meet & Greet and if I have an opening.
Payment: *New clients: payment in full is due at the Meet & Greet if a reservation is booked. *Return clients: payment in full is due on or before the first visit. At this time I can only accept checks or cash.
*Returned check fee is $25.00.
Cats: For the safety and security of both your cats and your home, I require that cats be visited a minimum of once per day. No every-other-day visits will be accepted.
Dogs: IMPORTANT: Because dogs are social animals that depend on human interaction for their happiness, I STRONGLY recommend that dogs be visited a minimum of twice per day,with three visits being ideal for them.
Security and Liability: Due to liability reasons, I do not accept "shared" pet sitting jobs with anyone, including friends, relatives, neighbors or other pet sitters.
For liability, safety and security reasons, clients must disclose to me in advance the names of all individuals who may be on the premises such as housekeepers, maintenance services (pool, lawn, plumbing, etc.). It is also recommended that the client notify these individuals that Furry Godmother Pet Sitting will be caring for your pets.
House keys will be obtained during the M & G and can either be returned at the end of a pet sitting job, or kept on secure file with me in anticipation of future visits. I highly recommend leaving two keys: one to use and one for back-up.
For security reasons, keys will not be locked inside the home, placed in a "secret" location outside, or mailed to the client's home.
Keys kept on file with me are placed in a secure location with nothing more than coding attached to them. Personally identifiable information is not attached to your keys.
Refunds and Cancellations: Please notify me as far in advance as possible of any cancellations or changes in your service.
Holidays: payment in full is charged, no refunds.
0-48 hours: payment in full is charged, no refunds.
2-7 days: 20% of service total is due (80% refund).
8+ days: no charge, full refund.

Pet Safety Issues: Furry Godmother Pet Sitting is NOT responsible for the loss, injury, illness or death of any pets that have free access to the outdoors.
For the safety of your pets, it is recommended that they be confined to the house or a fenced yard for the duration of the pet sitting job.
All pets should have a collar around their neck with a visible identification tag attached.
It is the responsibility of the pet owner to inspect gates, fences, latches, etc. to ensure they are in proper working order and there are no outlets for pets to escape.
"I'm home!": For the safety and well-being of pets, all clients are asked to call me upon their arrival home. Should you be delayed in your return, your pets will be able to stay on their routine and not miss a meal or a potty break.
"I'm home" calls are accepted at any hour of the day. Leave a message after normal business hours.
Additional visits will be made if I do not hear from the client by their scheduled return time which will result in additional charges being added to the bill.
